Use Pocket Archive from your AI agent.
Pocket Archive now works as an MCP server. Connect Claude, ChatGPT, Codex, Cursor, or another MCP app, and your agent can search, upload, organize, and follow up on your documents with the access you approve.

Set up in three steps
Add Pocket Archive to your agent
Pick your app. Every setup uses the same server URL.
Add the server from your terminal:
Terminalclaude mcp add --transport http pocket-archive https://api.pocketarchive.io/mcpThen run /mcp in Claude Code, choose pocket-archive, and sign in.
Add the server, then sign in from your terminal:
Add the servercodex mcp add pocket-archive --url https://api.pocketarchive.io/mcpSign incodex mcp login pocket-archiveIn Claude on the web or desktop, open Settings, then Connectors, and choose Add custom connector. Name it Pocket Archive, paste the server URL, and select Connect.
Turn on developer mode in Settings, then Apps & Connectors, then Advanced settings. Create a connector with the server URL and choose OAuth sign-in.
Developer mode is a beta feature, and availability depends on your ChatGPT plan.
Add Pocket Archive to your MCP configuration:
~/.cursor/mcp.json{ "mcpServers": { "pocket-archive": { "url": "https://api.pocketarchive.io/mcp" } } }Cursor opens your browser to sign in the first time it connects.
Any MCP app that supports remote servers and browser sign-in can connect with these settings:
- Server URL
- https://api.pocketarchive.io/mcp
- Transport
- Streamable HTTP
- Sign-in
- OAuth with dynamic client registration and PKCE
- Permissions
- archive:read, plus archive:write to allow changes
Approve access in your browser
Your agent opens Pocket Archive to sign in. Check the app name, then choose read-only or allow changes. If you're already signed in on the web, approval takes one click.
Read only
- Search and read documents
- Download original files
- Read Action Inbox items and Collections
Allow changes
- Everything in read only
- Upload files and edit details
- Move documents to trash and restore them
- Create and update Action Inbox items and Collections
Add the skill (optional)
The Pocket Archive skill teaches agents good habits: following every page of results, waiting for processing to finish, and treating document text as data, not instructions. MCP works without it.
In the Claude app, upload the .zip under Skills in Customize. Code execution must be turned on.
Claude Code: save the skillmkdir -p ~/.claude/skills/pocket-archive && curl -fsSL https://www.pocketarchive.io/skills/pocket-archive/SKILL.md -o ~/.claude/skills/pocket-archive/SKILL.mdCodex: save the skillmkdir -p ~/.codex/skills/pocket-archive && curl -fsSL https://www.pocketarchive.io/skills/pocket-archive/SKILL.md -o ~/.codex/skills/pocket-archive/SKILL.md
You stay in control
Agent access is separate from your own sign-in, limited to what you approve, and easy to end.
- Your password stays with youYou sign in on pocketarchive.io. Agents get their own access, never your password or web session.
- Read only, or allow changesRead-only agents can't see the tools that upload, edit, or delete.
- Access that expiresAccess renews every 15 minutes, and each connection ends after 30 days unless you approve it again.
- Revoke in one clickConnected apps in Settings lists every agent. Revoking stops future access but can't recall files already downloaded.
- Know who reads whatText your agent reads is processed by that agent's provider under their terms. Use read-only access for sensitive records.
- Deleting is recoverableDocuments an agent deletes go to trash, where you can restore them.
Questions
Which AI apps can connect?
Any app that supports remote MCP servers over Streamable HTTP with browser sign-in (OAuth). That includes current versions of Claude, Claude Code, ChatGPT in developer mode, Codex, and Cursor. Apps that only run local MCP servers need an adapter.
Does agent access cost extra?
No. It's included on every plan, including Free. Uploads still count toward your plan's text recognition and storage limits.
Can my agent delete documents?
Only if you allow changes. Deleted documents go to trash and can be restored. Deleting a collection removes the group but keeps its documents.
Why can't my agent upload a file?
Uploading needs an agent that can send files from your device. If yours can't, upload on the web. Your agent can work with the document once it's processed.
Do I need the skill?
No. MCP works on its own. The skill adds guidance that helps agents avoid common mistakes, like stopping at the first page of results.
How do I disconnect an agent?
Open Connected apps in Settings and select Revoke access. You can reconnect any time.
Bring your agent. Keep your originals.
Create a free account, add a few documents, and connect the AI app you already use.
